AI: Ethics and method in the communication profession
Communicators and knowledge workers increasingly use AI as a tool in their work tasks.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly utilized as a tool in communication work, knowledge work, dissemination, production, etc. However, the nuances and reflections essential for the implementation of AI in communication and knowledge work are often lacking. This includes insights into and methodologies for handling various forms of data, knowledge, and "intelligence" generated through AI, as well as an understanding of human interaction with AI in various formats (e.g., chatbots).
Drawing upon ethics, mediation theory, and knowledge analysis, methods are developed to implement and create value, particularly with GPT-oriented AI, in professions associated with communication, dissemination, and knowledge work.
The research project addresses, among other aspects:
- Algorithm auditing
- AI literacy
- AI ethics
- Balancing humans (filters) and machines in information work
Benefits professionals and the business community
Novel insights and methodologies in the research project aim to identify and describe methods that communication professionals and businesses can employ to ethically implement AI, benefiting both communication professionals and the business community as a whole.
